BEIJING (SNN-TV) – Three-time Gold medalist Shaun White said an emotional goodbye to the sport he help build after finishing just off the podium in the Men’s Halfpipe competition.

White came in fourth in the competition after a solid second run. But a fall in his final run denied the legendary snowboarder a chance at another Olympic medal.

An emotional White fell to his knees after the competition and later talked about his career and his legacy in the sport.

“It’s not about today. You know, I’m leaving behind a whole lifetime in this sport. I’m proud of that. I’m proud of every moment of it.”

In his post-Olympic career, White will now focus on the launch of his snowboard brand, Whitespace.
