SARASOTA –  The spring break season is fully underway and tourist are flocking to the Suncoast.

The Sarasota Police department wants to warn people… between the months of March and April the beaches and roadways will be busier than usual… so they have tips to avoid getting in trouble with the men and women in blue.

Spokesperson Genevieve Judge says while spring breakers pack their beach cooler… it’s time to pack some patience.

“If you are planning to head out to one of the beaches if you have some time off, if you’re visiting for spring break we just ask that you pack some patients,” said Judge. “There’s a lot of folks that are in the area so if you’re gonna be traveling just know that it might take you a little bit of extra time due to the large amount of people.”

SPD is also reminding folks to not forget their sunscreens at home, but most importantly don’t drive while under the influence. SPD will be out at beaches patrolling making sure no impaired drivers get on the road ways.
