SARASOTA – Sarasota Police Department start a new initiative with seniors. They call it Lunch with LEO. Wednesday morning, they ate together at the Seniors Friendship Centers. Sergeant of Sarasota Police Department, Tammy Featherstone says it’s to celebrate the community.
“Basically just honoring our Veterans since it’s the week of Veterans Day,” Sergeant Tammy Featherstone said. “So, sitting down with some of the veterans and law enforcement. Also, some of my coworkers are Veterans as well. Sharing stories, backgrounds, and just getting to know each other.”
Overall, it was a nice lunch. The cops and seniors enjoyed having the community come together.
