SARASOTA – Christmas came early this year, and those in Newtown go to celebrate in the park.

“It’s about helping those that don’t have as much as others have,” said Co-Founders of Eternal Bread of Life, Shirley and Neil McArthur.

Santa Clause and all his toys made a special pit stop in Newtown Sunday, as Christmas in the Park popped up at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park.

“We have toys, for all ages, from the time they are born up to the age of 17 years old,” said Shirley and Neil McArthur.

Games, free food, music and turkey box giveaways were offered to all the participants

“This is very, very important to me, especially with going through the last two years of COVID and the struggles that they’re going through and losing families, this is very important,” said said Shirley and Neil McArthur.

McArthur says its feels great to give back to those in Newtown

“I thank God, this is very, very important to Newtown, to help lift the spirits and everyone will know that everything is okay,” said Shirley and Neil McArthur.

“I tell people all the time, we get more pleasure I think than the kids do especially at Christmas time, the people that give get more out of it than the people that receive, were getting everything we want out of this,” said Participant of Christmas in the park, Joe Moran.
