Ringling alumnus puts colorful mark on #1 game

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has some ties locally

SARASOTA – Two long-running franchises make the Top 10 in sales in North America — Ratchet & Clank and Mario Golf. Specifically, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Mario Golf: Super Rush.

A Ringling alumnus, Stephen Russell, put his mark on the game with some colorful special effects. You can watch his highlight reel of his work on the game by following this link.

Ratchet & Clank is a long-standing franchise developed by Insomniac since its first game in 2002. Mario Golf goes back even further — 1984.

At that time, it was just called Golf.

It wouldn’t be until 1999 that Nintendo’s Golf games would officially become Mario Golf.
