Reds sweep Rays in Cincinnati

TB vs CIN

CINCINNATI, OH (SNN-TV) – Before heading back to St. Pete, the Rays looked to escape Cincinnati with at least one win over the Reds, avoiding a sweep.

But, the power of the longball reigned supreme, as Mike Moustakas, Tyler Stephenson and Jonathan India each hit a two-run homer in the third inning and the Reds beat the Rays 10-5 yesterday for a three-game sweep.

Moustakas connected for his 200th career homer as the Reds posted their first four-game winning streak since late May.

The Reds rocked Shane Baz for eight hits and seven runs in 2 1/3 innings. Prior to yesterday, the right-hander had allowed a combined three runs in 22 1/3 innings in his previous four starts.

After going 5-6 on the road, Tampa Bay heads home for a seven-game home stand starting on tonight with the first of four against Boston, with Matt Wisler on the mound for the Rays.
