Rays run wild, defeat Blue Jays 6-3

ST. PETERSBURG (SNN-TV) – With some of there best baserunning of the season, Tampa Bay made the Blue Jays pay for their mistakes and rolled to a 6-3 win at Tropicana Field.

Zach Eflin became major leagues’ third seven-game winner, as the Rays beat struggling Alek Manoah and Toronto to take three of four from the Blue Jays.

Eflin allowed one run and six hits in seven innings as the major league-leading Rays, now 37-15, stole seven bases for the second time this season and improved to 24-5 at home. He joined teammate Shane McClanahan and Minnesota’s Joe Ryan as the big leagues winningest pitchers.

Up next for the Rays, right-hander Cooper Criswell will start or follow an opener against Los Angeles Dodgers and Noah Syndergaard tomorrow night, in the first of a three-game set, the last of this current homestand.
