SARASOTA – It may not feel like fall today, but no matter. Time to get into the spirit, even if there is not a falling leaf in sight!

“It started a little fun thing to do, whenever my kids were younger, you always wanted a fun thing to have for the children, and there really wasn’t that much so we said hey why not have a pumpkin festival with all the trimmings,” said Owner of the Fruitville Grove, Kim White.

The Fruitville Grove Annual Pumpkin Festival is now in its 33rd year.

From Fall photo ops in the pumpkin patch, festival foods, local vendors, and a variety of family activities, the festival has it all, oh and did we mention pumpkins….

“Tons of pumpkins, we literally have heirloom pumpkins, pie pumpkins, carving pumpkins, jack-o- lantern pumpkins, pumpkins all shapes and sizes,” said White.

Activities include, pony rides, train rides, live music, and crafting activities, including craft pumpkins!

“It’s not really about sewing, it’s about learning about that they can attempt something that may look unattainable, so being able to hold a needle, and thread it and then they realize the next time they look at something  that might be a little scary, they don’t feel as prohibited,” said Owner and Creator of Pure Imagination Studios

“My favorite was the craft that were doing right now,” said Chloe Randall, who made her own craft pumpkin.

The festival runs every weekend in October.

“We absolutely love fall, because it sort of kicks off that season where it gets a little cooler, a little more comfortable to be outside, and it’s a perfect fun thing to do for the family, bring them out and have a good time,” said White.

Festival hours are from 10 to 5PM every Saturday and Sunday til’ Halloween.
