SARASOTA – The rain hasn’t been enough to stop protesters form marching through the streets of Sarasota demanding justice for George Floyd and calling for police reforms.

Saturdays heavy downpours weren’t any different from any of the past days protests have been organized on the Suncoast. The protester started their march on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Way and finished at the Mall at University Town Center. That’s nearly a seven mile walk from where they started.

15-year-old Cobie Bradley says he’s glad to see different races coming together for a similar cause across the nation.

“We’re getting justice out of it piece by piece as much as we expand we get more peace and more justice for the people we fight for,” said Bradley. “Sarasota isn’t much of a violent place, we’re trying to prevent violence that’s what we’re fighting for.”

Hundreds more attended the march in Bradenton on Sunday.
