TULSA, OK (SNN TV) – Governor and Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis has notched his first gubernatorial endorsement.
Fellow republican governor, Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, says he’s backing DeSantis in the 2024 race. Stitt made his remarks during an event in Tulsa on Saturday where both men appeared.
Stitt says DeSantis is a proven leader.
“Similar to how we did in Oklahoma, we just believe in individual liberties and freedoms and saw how he kept his state open,” Stitt told reporters, “And you can see now, the people love him. People in Oklahoma love him, he won by 19 points in Florida, and… we need a Republican candidate to beat Joe Biden, and we need one who can be there for eight years.”
DeSantis told the crowd he wants to change the country for the better.
And he railed against the federal government’s bureaucracy.
