July 2019 Global Temperatures

Not just the hottest July on record. It’s the hottest month, period.

NOAA released its monthly climate report Thursday morning. Global temperatures averaged 62.13 degrees, which is 1.71 degrees about the 20th-century average. That edges out July 2016 as the hottest July on record, but more significantly, it breaks the record for hottest month ever recorded.

This follows up June 2019, which was the hottest June on record according to NOAA. According to the report, 2019 will likely be in the top 5 for warmest years on record when all is said and done.
