SARASOTA – A children’s book captures the hearts of many on the Suncoast. A book signing was held on Saturday morning at The Reserve.

Inspired by her trip to Costa Rica, Author, Janice Shelton, wrote “Firu’s Forest.”

The book is made up of three short stories illuminating themes of community, caring for people, letting go of the past, and learning to set boundaries.

Shelton believes raising readers is important.

“I think it’s such a special time to be able to sit and read in the evenings with your children,” said Janice Shelton. “We try to read every day.”

Shelton hopes her book can be a part of that bonding process. The book is available on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble.
