BRADENTON/PALMETTO/SARASOTA (SNN TV) – New rooftop restaurants are planned or in the works in Palmetto, Bradenton, and Sarasota. Here’s a rundown of anything you missed.

First, following up on a story we brought to you last week, the Bradenton City Hall in downtown at the Riverwalk could be replaced by the Vias if ultimately approved.

The Vias would be a mixed-use development with apartments, condos, retail, and a rooftop venue. L & L Development Group of West Palm Beach is partnering with local developer Ron Allen and NDC Construction Company. It’ll join the other rooftop bar at Oak & Stone on the Riverwalk.

In Palmetto, the Marriott Palmetto hotel will be connected to the soon-to-be-upgraded Bradenton Area Convention Center. The hotel will feature a V-I-P rooftop lounge called the Oyster River Bar.

Also in Palmetto, Ron Allen’s NDC Construction has partnered with Hatfield Development Company. They’ve made a $3.5 million bid to purchase land currently used as overflow parking for the Riverside Boat Ramp. They want to convert it to a mixed-use project with 6,350 square feet of retail space, including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

And a Mexican restaurant with a rooftop lounge called Banditos Tacos & Tequila is heading to Downtown Sarasota. The Herald-Tribune reports Banditos has multiple locations in Maryland and Virginia, and this will be its first Florida location. The rooftop portion will be part of a second phase in 2024. It’ll replace the Tavern on Main Brewery spot which ultimately never opened.
