SARASOTA – In the wake of another mass shooting at least 20 are killed and 26 are left injured in a shooting at a Wal-Mart in El Paso, Texas. Mexican officials have confirmed that three of the victims are Mexican citizens.

“This shouldn’t be happening…this has to stop, it’s nothing but….racist that’s what it is,” said Sergio.

Sergio emigrated to the U.S. more than 30 years ago. He says he believes Saturdays’ mass shooting stemmed from nothing but hate towards the Mexican community.

“Why didn’t he do this in Oklahoma, why didn’t he do it in Louisiana, why didn’t he do it in Ohio?” said Sergio. “Why did he have to go to a border town where the community is 99% is Hispanic?”

Law enforcement in El Paso is investigating a four page document they believe the alleged shooter uploaded minutes before the attack to 8chan, an online message board with racist and anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.

In the document titled “The Inconvenient Truth” the writer says “This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas…..I am simply defending my country from cultural and ethnic replacement brought on by an invasion.”

“Everyone saying he was going straightly towards Mexicans so I think probably a hate crime maybe terrorism,” said Kenny.

El Paso District Attorney Jaime Esperanza says the suspect is currently being charged with capital murder and he will be seeking the death penalty. The FBI is investigating if additional charges of domestic terrorism and hate crime will be added.
