SARASOTA – Pet Wants Sarasota, a natural pet food delivery company, hosted their second Dog Days of Summer event.
Pets and their owners got the chance to get out of the house and cool off from the summer heat together. Jilian Alumbaugh organized the event to help Satchel’s Last Resort raise funds for food for man’s best friend.
“We partnered with Satchel’s Last Resort, they are a rescue here in Sarasota. They are a no kill shelter and they’re a sanctuary so the dogs are there all the time, they never leave,” said Alumbaugh. “There are some dogs that have been there for years, so they constantly need food. So what we’re doing is we’re doing a food drive for them it’s a buy one give program.”
The event raised 168 pounds of food to be donated to Satchel’s. Pet Wants Sarasota will host a Dog Days event again at the Bazaar on Apricot & Lime Saturday August 24th from 10-3.
