SARASOTA – Hundreds of couples say I Do… again at Siesta Beach. The annual vow renewal ceremony allows for couples to relive their happiest day.
Love is in the air. “Marriage is the foundation in the community and we celebrate it with these people today,” said Jonathan Poyner, Recreation Specialist with Sarasota County.
More than 300 hundred people gathered at Siesta Beach to say “I Do” again. For the past 30 years couples have been renewing their vows at one of the Suncoast most beautiful beaches.
“I think it’s just wonderful that people have the chance to do it, you know the cost of it $10 the scenery is beautiful,” said Natalie Duquette.
Troy and Natalie Duquette have been married for five years and Natalie wanted to surprise her husband and daughter by wearing her wedding dress to the ceremony. “Our wedding from five years ago since my daughter wasn’t there we don’t have any pictures of the three of us in my dress and I thought it be special for us and especially for her to share that moment,” she said

“I think we thought that this was so unique to Sarasota. We love the beach, we got married on the beach in Malibu so for us the beach is really, really special,” said Kelly Colbert.
Andy Nibley and Kelly Colbert have married for 15 years and decided to do something different. “I don’t know being at a restaurant and having a meal we can do that any day, this just felt really unusual, different and it is our 15th year anniversary so it felt like a nice away to commemorate,” said Colbert.
Circuit Judge Debra Johnes-Riva officiated the vow renewals and each couple left with a candle to signify their eternal love for one another.
