MANATEE COUNTY (WSNN) – Haiti is in turmoil after the president was killed, Wednesday, and some Haitians on the Suncoast have mixed feelings about it.

The assassination of President Jovenel Moïsehas many feeling shocked and outraged about what is happening in their country.

Four suspects were killed by police overnight, and another six were detained, officials said.

Two south Florida men are among the six who were detained; James Solages of Fort Lauderdale and Joseph Vincent, from the Miami area.

Local Haitians told SNN, some people liked the president and some didn’t. But, they didn’t think he deserved to get killed.

“Yea, I thought it was a real outrage,” Haitian Living in Manatee County, Jimmy Altidor said. It was kind of like a spit in the face to the Haitian community. I feel like a lot is going to go down in Haiti behind this. There’s going to be real chaos in Haiti for real.”

The president’s wife, Martine Moïse, was shot in the assault and was flown to a hospital in Miami.  Officials say she’s in stable condition.
