VENICE – Amid the growing COVID–19 crisis, the Gulf Coast Community Foundation and Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation have joined forces and introduced a philanthropic initiative.

The foundation has already made a grant for Telehealth primary care and behavioral health care for those who are uninsured and on Medicaid so they won’t have to go into clinics, As well as a grant to increase the childcare capacity of more children of our first responders and those in the health care industry.

“We’re planning on helping the critical organizations that deal with the basic needs, basic human and health needs in our community. What we’re trying to do is weave a net, a safety net for our families and our individual’s that is so tight no one falls through.”

So far $1.5 million is set to support the initiative. The foundation is challenging Gulf Coast donors and other philanthropists in the community to match that amount.

Community members interested in donating to help fortify key health and safety organizations in the region can visit the donor portal at GulfcoastCF.org and click on COVID–19 fund.
