TAMPA (SNN-TV) – After a season-ending shoulder injury derailed the 2022 season, USF quarterback Gerry Bohanon announced Monday that he will remain on the Bulls roster next year.

“I wanted to thank you guys for welcoming me with open arms since I’ve been here… [I’m] Hurt by the news that my season’s ended, but really looking forward to next season,” Bohanon said in an Instagram post.

2023 will count as the junior’s final year of eligibility, as he does have the COVID-19 ‘Bonus Season’ yet to use. Bohanon has used all of his traditional years of eligibility, including his traditional redshirt and was not eligible for a medical redshirt due to playing in seven games this season for USF. In his first season in Tampa after transferring from Baylor, Bohanon completed 56.8% of his passes for 1,070 yards, with six touchdowns and six interceptions. He had a career season on the ground also, rushing for 386 yards on 60 carries and three touchdowns.

Bohanon suffered his shoulder injury against Tulane on Oct. 15, unfortunately ending a string of solid play in October. Sophomore quarterback Katravis Marsh entered for Bohanon against Tulane and drew his first start of the season on Saturday at Houston.
