Free urgent care, vets, recycling, water updates in Charlotte County

CHARLOTTE COUNTY (SNN TV) – The updates for Charlotte County after Hurricane Ian are numerous, so we will run them down for you.

Veterinarians are now available at the Humane Society of America animal needs drive-thru in the Mid County Regional Library parking lot. That’s at 2050 Forrest Nelson Boulevard in Port Charlotte.

Veterinarians are providing treatments for fleas and ticks, immediate first aid, heartworm prevention, ear issues, traumatic injuries, skin and gastrointestinal issues. Residents can also pick up pet food.The animal needs drive-thru is open daily from 9 a.m to 6 p.m through October 14.

Charlotte County Utilities rescinds its boil water notice for all customers.

FEMA opens a disaster recovery center at the Home Depot at 12621 South McCall Road in Englewood. The center is open 9 a.m to 6 p.m everyday. 

The recycling facility at 7070 Environmental Way, Englewood will be open from 8 a.m to 6 p.m, Monday-Sunday for residential drop-off only. The one in Port Charlotte On Kenilworth Boulevard remains open.

There are also more medical resources now available in Charlotte County.

 


For free urgent care, a medical treatment site is open 24/7 in the Cultural Center Parking Lot at 2280 Aaron Street in Port Charlotte. They aren’t able to do x-rays or cast broken bones, however.

There’s also a Mobile Urgent Care clinic at Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park at 6961 San Casa Drive in Englewood. They’re open 9 a.m to 6 p.m.
