FDOH: It's time for shots before school

SUNCOAST – The Florida Department of Health say: it’s time to have children immunized before the next school year.

‘Florida SHOTS’ is a free registry intended to make it easier for parents to keep up with their child’s or children’s vaccinations.

The following vaccines are required for children entering preschool and grades K-12: diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, measles, mumps, rubella, polio, chickenpox and hepatitis B.

Parents of kindergartners and 7th graders are asked to review their children’s immunization records.

Just visit your health care provider or one of the state health department clinics. For more information, visit ImmunizeFlorida.org.
