LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL (SNN-TV) – Each year SBNation’s Black and Gold Banneret awards are voted upon, honoring the best of the best in UCF Knights athletics. This year a former Lakewood Ranch softball star is up for an award.
Bradenton native and senior, UCF OF Denali Schappacher is up for the Women’s Senior of the Year award.
This season Schappacher was named First Team All-Conference, led team in triples with 4, she was 2nd on the team in hitting .318, and was 3rd in steals with 16.
The former Lakewood Ranch star also became the 10th player in program history to reach 200 career hits vs. Furman on March 19th.
Schappacher graduated Lakewood Ranch in 2017, and during her time was Two-time All-State and All-Area.
