SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – Former, longtime Palmetto High School football Head Coach, Dave Marino, has found a new home. Per a reliable source, Marino is set to become Cardinal Mooney’s new offensive line coach, and will meet with school administration next week to finalize the agreement.
Marino stepped down from his position at Palmetto in early January, leading the Tigers to hire former Lakewood Ranch head coach, Rashad West to the same position.
Marino joined the Tigers staff 15 years ago as Raymond Woodie’s offensive line coach, and then took over the reigns as head-man-in-charge in 2010. During his 13-year seasons with Palmetto, Marino won 3 regional championships, while accruing a final record of 100 wins and 57 losses.
This past season the Tigers finished 6-4 and lost to Lehigh in the first round of the Class 4S playoffs. Marino joins a Jared Clark-led Cardinal Mooney Cougars squad that finished last season 4-7, losing in the first round of the Class 1S Playoffs to John Carroll Catholic.
