SARASOTA – For a Black Friday shopper, does your shopping list include a Christmas tree and other holiday decorations?
South Pole trees has sold fresh trees and Christmas accessories to people in Sarasota for nearly three decades.
“It’s fun seeing people year after year and how they’re doing and glad their back, as is the spirit,” South Pole owner Al Cone said.
Marilyn Perkovich-Farand, a snowbird from north of the border in Ontario, doesn’t go anywhere else for her Christmas tree shopping.
“It gets me so excited when I see this tent go up; the red and white is fun and exciting.
Cone prepares for the holiday season for the holiday season for almost half of the year.
“We start, you know, everything starts in November for setting up but we start probably in September. I’m up looking at trees and stuff in July so it’s a lot more involved than people think,” Cone said.
