SARASOTA (SNN TV) – The 3D Chalk festival is moving from Venice to Sarasota this year. And yes, you can thank Hurricane Ian for that.

The storm’s impact on Venice Municipal Airport forced the cancellation of the 15th Chalk Festival in Venice. It was originally planned to run from October 28 through the 31.

Now, the plan calls for assembling 20 pavement artists to create their chalk illusions between October 20 and October 31 at sites in Sarasota.

Since the artwork will be spread out, the Herald-Tribune reports there will be no admission charge this year. As locations are confirmed, they will be posted on the website chalkfestival.org.
