SARASOTA/BRADENTON (SNN TV) – “Camping with the Pops” begins July 17 at the State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota. Musicians from the local Pops Orchestra will instruct students each night for a week before a performance at the SCF Recital Hall.
Chamber music groups offered to your child include a string quarter, brass quintet, woodwind quintet, saxophone choir, flute choir, and percussion ensemble.
Last year, more than 30 students participated in the camp. This year, “Camping with the Pops” will run from July 17-21 from 6-8 p.m. at the State College of Florida Music Building. The kids will perform in a free public performance Friday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall. All instruments and ability levels are welcome.
