Buccaneers travel to nation’s capital for Week 10

WASHINGTON, D.C. (SNN-TV) – Coming off their BYE week, the 6 and 2, NFC South leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers hit the road to the nation’s capital for their Week 10 match-up.

The Washington Football Team host the defending Super Bowl Champs this week at FedEx Field. Washington gave the Bucs one of their stiffest tests on the road to the championship last season. Taylor Heinicke got just his second NFL start, his first for Washington, and nearly engineered the upset. Heinicke threw for over 300 yards and added a string of critical first downs with scrambles but the Bucs held on, 31-23.

The Football Team is 2-6 coming out of its bye week, which doesn’t work quite as well this year in the NFC East with the Dallas Cowboys standing at 7-2.

As for the Buccaneers, they’ll look to start a new winning streak after their four game run was ended in all-too-familiar fashion with a loss in New Orleans in Week Eight.

With the week off, Head Coach Bruce Arians still doesn’t expect any signs of rust. “I think the way we practiced all week there wasn’t rust, that’s for sure. A lot of energy. Both show teams did a hell of a job, and when they bring that energy to practice everybody has to step it up. It was an excellent week on the field.”

For Sunday’s game the Bucs will miss both Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown as they’re still out due to injury. Nevertheless, kickoff from FedEx Field is set for one o’clock.
