SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – A former Sarasota Sailors baseball star realized a dream today, hearing his name called on Day 3 of the MLB Draft.

Satchell Norman, freshman catcher at Florida Southwestern State Junior College in Ft. Myers was selected in the 15th round today by the Milwaukee Brewers with the 462nd pick. Per reports, Norman does plan to sign with Milwaukee.

Norman was a star at Sarasota, graduating last year, and twice was named a Rawlings All-American.

Norman transferred that success to his freshman season in college, as he set a new program single-season record with a .376 average this season while hitting 16 doubles & 10 home runs, both of which rank second in program history.

Norman also played for the Florida Burn, winning a WWBA World Championship in Jupiter.

Norman is currently playing in the Valley Baseball League for the Charlottesville (VA) Tom Sox, where he was recently named an All-Star.
