FLORIDA (SNN TV) – Congressman Charlie Crist unveils his ‘Boricuas Con Crist‘ plan in his campaign for governor.
The former governor says Florida is home to more than a million Puerto Ricans and called himself a staunch ally who fought for disaster relief after Hurricane Maria and was on the ground after Hurricane Fiona.
Some of the planks of the plan include the Good Neighbor Policy, which would ramp up disaster relief around the state and for Puerto Rico after a storm. Another plank is ‘Affordable Florida for All,’ which would tackle lowering rent, utility bills, and property insurance. And he says on Day 1 if elected, he would sign an executive order protecting abortion rights.
While unveiling the plan, he touted his vote for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which provides significant infrastructure funding throughout the country and record funding for Puerto Ricans.
Crist is running against Governor DeSantis in Florida’s gubernatorial election. Election day is November 8.
