FLORIDA – Amazon is scaling back expansion plans, which could impact its plans in Florida.

According to the Herald Tribune, Amazon’s expansion plans included more than two dozen projects in Florida.

However, an unexpected net loss of 3-point-8 billion dollars in 2022’s first quarter led to Amazon canceling 16 expansion projects, including one in Coral Springs, Florida. The company lost 2 billion dollars in the second quarter.

A list provided to USA today Network shows that 29 of the facilities slated to be closed or cancelled were smaller last-mile delivery stations. 11 were larger fulfillment centers, and two were planned air hub and sortation centers.

Of the 24 projects that were delayed, two are in Florida: Cocoa and Miramar.
