Alabama QB Bryce Young wins Heisman Trophy

BRYCE YOUNG

NEW YORK (SNN-TV) – For the second year in a row, a player from the University of Alabama has won College Football’s top honor, the Heisman trophy.

In his first year of starting as Quarterback for the Crimson Tide, Alabama’s Bryce Young was the top vote-getter in the Heisman competition.

Young edged out fellow QB’s C.J. Stroud from Ohio State and Kenny Pickett of Pittsburgh, and the University of Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson.

Surprisingly, Bryce Young is the first quarterback ever to win the Heisman at Alabama, a program that has produced legends of the game like Joe Namath.

Young remains in contention for the National Championship in the College Playoff and could be eligible to win the Heisman again next season.

The last player to win the Heisman back to back was Ohio State’s Archie Griffin in 1974 and 1975.
