BRADENTON (SNN TV) – A 71-year-old Sarasota woman is dead and two people are injured after a crash in Manatee County.
This happened around 6:17 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 41 and Tallevast Road near the airport.
A 72-year-old man was driving with the woman and going south on 41. He started turning left onto Tallevast. A 30-year-old Venice man was driving a pickup truck north and collided with the SUV.
The SUV spun and collided with a traffic light pole.
Both drivers were not wearing seatbelts and were transported to a hospital according to Florida Highway Patrol; the 30-year-old was critically injured. The woman was wearing a seatbelt and was brought to a hospital but later died.
The crash remains under investigation.
