In a press release, Senior Friendship Centers DeSoto County said the Halloween-themed fundraiser’s goal is to provide essential support for those in need within DeSoto County.
SFC said 66 percent of households in the county struggle to afford basic needs, to which 27,000 of them are seniors.
Proceeds of the vent will go to SFC’s nutrition program in DeSoto to help alleviate hunger.

“Trunk or Treat” will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s parking lot at 1703 East Oak Street in Arcadia. It’ll run from 6 to 9 p.m.
