18-year-old arrested in connection to two shootings in Sarasota

SARASOTA – The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in connection to two separate shootings on the Suncoast.

Deputies arrested 18-year-old Mikyle Chamberlain on Tuesday after he allegedly opened fire in the area of Clay Circle and King Blvd. on Monday and near Booker Ave. and 24th St. on Tuesday.

Deputies say they located a Dodge Charger believed to be involved in the shooting. Chamberlain then led deputies on a chase before being arrested.

Deputies found four rounds of ammunition and two 9MM magazines. Deputies say Chamberlain admitted to both shootings, in which three homes and six vehicles were damaged due to gunfire.

Chamberlain is facing three counts of Possession of a Weapon by an adult felon, four counts of Discharging of a Firearm and more than a dozen other felony charges.

He remains in custody on a $83,000 bond.
