SARASOTA (WSNN) – The search for the right masks for the hearing impaired has come to an end for one Suncoast company.

When President of VisCom Interpreting Services, Charlene McCarthy, last spoke to SNN in May, she mentioned how difficult it is for the deaf to read lips and interpret when masks are covering half your face.

They were all desperate to find clear masks that wouldn’t fog up and still follow CDC guidelines.

And McCarthy says as of Mid June, they got what they needed from an Alaskan company: the Humanity Shield.

She says the order of these masks were backlogged for so long, she wasn’t able to get access to it. Now, she ordered about half a dozen for her company and she says they should be coming in this week.
