SARASOTA (SNN-TV) – This Saturday beginning at 7pm the RI5E Sports Top 100 Showcase will take place at Cardinal Mooney High School, displaying top-tier high school talent from Sarasota, Manatee and Charlotte counties.
RI5E Sports was founded by former Southeast, Florida State, New Orleans Saints and Montreal Alouettes quarterback, Adrian McPherson. The first installment of the event will give local talent the opportunity to shine in front of their peers, as well as collegiate scouts.
McPherson says the idea grew when local coaches started vetting their best players, and even giving lesser known players a shot to shine.
“This was an opportunity for us to put all those kids in one spot, on one night. Then we reached out to everyone we knew, and say, hey we’re going to live-stream it. We know you guys can’t be here, but if you can click on the link, watch it. We can create some buzz around this thing, to help these kids get the exposure that I think they deserve.”
The event can be seen on Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV and YouTube via the Varsity Sports Network.
