SNN-TV – Serena Williams seems to be leaving the door open when it comes to playing competitive tennis again.

Williams had announced at the U.S. Open just weeks ago that she would “evolve” away from the sport following that tournament. But, earlier today, when the 23-time grand slam champion was asked about a potential return, she replied “you never know.” Williams referred to another famous athlete’s back and forth with retirement, saying “Tom Brady started a really cool trend.”

Williams was knocked out in the 3rd round of the U.S. Open in a moment many thought would be the last act of her 27-year tennis career. She said she was planning to focus on her family, as well as her business and charity work.
