NEWARK, NJ (SNN-TV) – The Tampa Bay Lightning overcame an early deficit to defeat the New Jersey Devils in Newark yesterday.

Early on it felt like the Lightning might get run out of the Prudential Center. Instead, the Bolts settled in.

Tampa Bay leveled the score late in the first period on an Anthony Cirelli shorthanded goal. A dominating three-goal middle frame then followed as the Lightning firmly took control en route to a 4-1 victory on Tuesday in Newark.

Tampa Bay played without Steven Stamkos, who missed the game with a lower-body injury and is day-to-day. In his place, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare drew back into the lineup for the first time since March 5.

The Bolts will remain put in New Jersey with a second-straight matchup against the Devils at the Prudential Center set for Thursday.
