SARASOTA- The 6th annual Lion Fish Derby Fishing Tournament is canceled. According to MOTE Marine Lab, the fishing tournament is cancelled because of the weather. The fishing tournament was supposed to run Friday and Saturday, capping off the weekend with a lion fish tasting Sunday.
“Our tasting event which is a very exciting event, getting to taste lots of lion fish by local chefs is still going on this weekend,” said Stephannie Kettle.
The lion fish tasting event is already sold.
