MANATEE COUNTY (WSNN) – Masks are no longer required inside county properties.

Earlier today, county commissioners voted to direct the county administrator to remove all COVID-19-related restrictions imposed in county-owned public buildings.

The vote came after public safety officials updated COVID-19 information for commissioners.

First, 52-percent of eligible manatee county residents have been vaccinated. Second, the local COVID-19 test site at the Bradenton Area Convention center will close after testing ends this Saturday, May 15.

A state testing site at the Sarasota kennel club will also close on Saturday.

All other state-run testing sites throughout the state will be closed by May 28.

The county will keep its website current with listings of local testing sites.
