SARASOTA – A Sarasota resident is trying to win the ride of her dreams, but she needs your help.
“When I’m on a motorcycle I feel just like all the other bikers, I don’t feel any different,” said Sarasota resident, Tina Miller.
Sarasota resident, Tina Miller is a leg amputee from birth whose dream is to be a biker chick.
“When you’re on a motorcycle you’re free, you’re totally free, it’s the most amazing feeling you could ever feel,” said Miller.
Miller purchased a bike years ago under the impression it could be modified to meet her needs. However, after some financial hardships she was forced to sell the bike with only 8 miles on the odometer, leaving her feeling the tremendous loss.
Now, with hopes to achieve her biker dreams Miller signed up for the Dream Chopper contest
“The winner gets a 120 thousand dollar motorcycle built and adapted to them, whatever they want, they get it, so it would be awesome to finally have a motorcycle adapted to my needs,” said Miller.
Miller is now in the final round and needs all the votes she can get
“Everybody wants to belong and feel important, and Tina is no exception,” said Tina’s husband, Jason Powell.
“You can vote every single day through the end of the contest, we’ve got a big deadline which is Thursday evening, that’s when it will be determined who goes onto the next round, and it has to be the top person and currently Tine is third and hopes and we hope that she can be bumped up to second or first before Thursday,” said Powell.
Miller hopes she can help inspire others along the way
“Just cause you have a disability that means nothing, that doesn’t mean you’re disabled, you can do so many things and you can accomplish so many things in your life, just if you try,” said Miller.
